1. What is a hair topper?

Most people know what extensions are, but toppers- not so much. We’d like to think of toppers as a hair extension for the top of your head.

Toppers are natural-looking hair piece that you can clip or secure on your head to blend in with your own hair. Toppers are good for coverage on one targeted area of the head. They are smaller and lighter than wigs and you don't have to wear a wig cap or hide your existing hair when you wear them.

2. Who wears toppers?

The short answer, anyone! A hair topper can be an easy & perfect solution for ladies suffering from hair loss or thinning hair. But this doesn't mean toppers are just for women with hair loss! We find so many women just want to add more volume for that super model look, without having to style their own hair to achieve that!

3. Can I curl or straighten my topper?

Yes! You can use curling irons, straightening irons, or blow dryers on human hair toppers.

However, you cannot use any heat on Kanekalon fibers since it can cause irreparable damage to the fiber. Heat-friendly synthetic fiber can withstand a low heat. Heat-friendly fibers should be curled or straightened with a heating tool that is below 280°F. And the heat will change the hairstyle permanently.

4. Can I swim or shower with my topper?

You can definitely wear your piece in the water, but do note that this may shorten the life span of your piece (especially in chlorinated water). We’d suggest to wear an older or inexpensive piece when going in the water, so as to preserve the longevity of your everyday piece. You may also want to wear a headband to prevent the force of the water from pulling on the clips

5. How should I care my topper?

Styling:

You can use heat (blow dry and straighter/curling) on your human hair topper/wig but be sure to use a low heat setting. The less heat you use, the longer your piece can feel like new. It is recommended that your piece is styled on a block head (mannequin head) with clamp for ease of use. A topper should be pinned down with T Pins. The pins should be inserted carefully through the clips. Do not pin through the silk area. Do not pin through any silk area or skin area. We also recommends to use the heat protector while styling.

You can also use hair spray on your piece. However, please do not overdo it and also to wash the product out well.


Washing:

Taking good care of your hair topper by washing it correctly can help it to last longer. Depending on how often you wear a topper determines how often you will need to wash it. For daily use, we recommend you wash it every 2-4 weeks, depending on your level of activity.

Brushing：

Use a paddle brush. Always start brushing from the bottom of the hair and gently work your way up. Avoid combing the hair when it’s wet as the knots can loosen over time.

Storing:

Store your piece on a mannequin head when it’s not in use to help keep its shape. Do not store your piece in direct sunlight, as this can lighten the color. Store with the clips closed and tangle-free.
